Evan's first play date

Last week Evan was so excited to have his first play date with his best friend, Will. Will is at Evan's daycare and they have been best buds for awhile.  They do have their moments, per Evan "Will hit me today Mommy" which is said at least once a week. But, Evan isn't always the best share-er either.  However, most days, they are two little peas in a pod.

We have been talking about having a playdate for awhile with Will's parents and the time seemed right around Evan's birthday.  Especially because Evan kept wanting Will to come over for his birthday party.  As we weren't technically having a friend party for Evan', we figured a playdate was the next best thing.

Evan and I decided to wait outside for them to arrive last Saturday and around 2 or so in the afternoon, their car pulled into the driveway. This prompted Evan to jump up and down and yell "Will is here!  Will is here"  and, according to Will's Mom, Will was just as excited in the car.

Will jumped out of the car, ran and gave Evan a hug, and while I was talking to Will's Mom, Evan brought Will to the house and the two never looked back!

They played Monster Trucks, in the sandbox, on the swingset, and pushed trucks around.  Evan wanted to have cheese balls and smores for the afternoon and that is what we did!  The kids went around the backyard in the gator and gathered sticks for the fire and then piled them up and got everything ready.  I got out the smores stuff, called the neighbors (Kelloggs) and it was a party!  As the Kelloggs walked across the street, Evan happily told Will "Look! Now you can meet my cousins from across the street!"

they really enjoyed driving the gator together.

This was the view for most of the afternoon. The boys pushing trucks around.

The playdate was definitely a success and if it was up to Evan, Will would come over every day.
